Visit the Park of Naquane's Rock Engravings and set off to discover hints of the past. You'll experience a journey through history over thousands of years and test your skills by engraving yourself on the stone!
On large sandstone surfaces, smoothed by the action of glaciers, the ancient inhabitants of the valley have created images by tapping with a stone striker or, more rarely, by engraving with a pointed instrument. The images on the stone recall scenes from everyday life and speak of their spiritual world with the cult of deities linked to nature. On the rocks of the Park we find warriors, knights, animals, buildings, symbolic figures and inscriptions, which sometimes can be interpreted as elements of scenes with complex meaning.
In the first part of the experience, thanks to the guided tour, you will discover the secrets of the Iron Age - the era best represented in the park - with a wide variety of themes and you will understand how to observe the rock engravings means to identify and experience the emotions that these men lived every day, emotions that also lives modern man.
The adventure is completed with the second part of the experience, dedicated to the workshop with the artist Maria Luisa Gandini in which you will discover the modern version of the rock engravings. Her works of art, in fact, are born from a passion for the engraving of lapis, semi-precious stones such as sodalite and simple pebble. Following Maria Luisa's instructions, you can create yourself an engraved object, working with your hands years and years of history in a single object!
